Vineyards Philosophy
Long-term relationships with vineyard owners, in specific AVA’s, that consistently grow fruit producing award-winning wines are central to the Great Basin quality first theme. We learned the hard way that truly good wine can only be made from great fruit. That is why the long-term mutually beneficial relationships with vineyard owners are so important to us. If you look at the back labels on our bottles you will also see testament to our appreciation for vineyard owners we work with.
Grapes are sourced from Amador, Sonoma, and Mendocino Counties of Northern California. Two of the vineyards are also home to beautiful estate wineries. All of the vineyard owners focus on quality over quantity while responsibly farming. This including hand picking their fruit, even if it mean picking at night, to assure the desired grape characteristics are obtained.
All of the vineyard owners are committed to sustainable and/or fish friendly farming practices which is consistent with our preference and commitment to sustainability. Some carry 3rd party certifications.
